HERE IS MY STORYMy fitness journey didn't begin until after I had my last baby in 2011.
Growing up, I was active but was never involved in organized sports. I was a kid who played outside, enjoyed animals, and did alright in PhysEd but did not actively pursue being "physically active" or working out. In my 20s, my chosen career had me sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day, and my activity levels had declined dramatically. I struggled with weight gain and unhealthy weight loss, yo-yo dieting & fad diets that didn't stick. Just before I turned 30, my kids and I moved with their father to a new town. After a year in the new city, I was miserable, lonely and had no motivation to take care of myself. As a result, I was very unhappy in the skin that I was in. |
GOAL SETTING
In 2012, a year after having my youngest child and after a year of living in misery, I decided it was time to find a way to get happier. My research convinced me that I should take up exercise because regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. Exercise releases chemicals like endorphins and serotonin that improve your mood.
In March, I decided to commit to learning how to run (couch to 5k) as a 90-day challenge. In those three months, my body composition changed dramatically! The changes I experienced mentally are the results that I am the proudest of and have lasted ten years!

I don't remember if I had a weight loss goal when I started. Still, my body changed so much from changing my lifestyle, and the energy I gained from incorporating daily movement was incredible - something I never imagined possible. The confidence that I gained from learning something new and from making goals and achieving them has kept me going all these years.
My journey has evolved over the years. At first, I started by doing 90-day challenges. With each new 90-Day Challenge, I incorporated different aspects of fitness and nutrition. I taught myself how to eat properly to maintain weight and changed my lifestyle.

ALL NEW LIFESTYLE
Fitness really did BECOME my lifestyle, and I have since moved on from 90 Day Challenges to longer-term goals such as competing in Figure competitions with the ABBA, getting certified as an NCSF Personal Trainer and spending most of my days (weekdays and weekends) in the gym with my own fitness goals and helping my clients achieve their health and fitness goals.

BRICK WALL OF FRUSTRATION
During COVID, the gyms closed, and my PT business had shit the bed. I blamed COVID. I became very depressed, and I lost my purpose.
In 2020, I ate my feelings and drank almost every night. I had a fully stocked gym in my basement at home, but I couldn't bring myself to work out in the dungeon more than once a week. I missed my clients and my pre-Covid life.
When the gyms opened again, I was too far gone to get motivated to use the gym again or even train clients. I WAS STUCK. My mindset was so negative, and everything around me was falling apart. I was unhappy in my relationship and job, and my body was in pain and failing me…
But then I found help.

UNSTUCK
I reached out to a coach friend for help with my relationship. The effects of having someone there to help me sort through my feelings and perceptions spilled into the other areas of my life. As the stress reduced, clarity came, and I got UNSTUCK and my interest in Health & Life Coaching began.
As a Health, Life, and Clarity Catalyst Coach, as well as a Certified Personal Trainer, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to help people who are stuck; full of ffrustration, self-doubt and stress and seeking a change that guides them towards the solutions they need to feel the motivation they are yearning for. For my clients, being happy, healthy and energized, both physically and mentally, is priority in their life. All they need is the vehicle and tools that allow them to gain clarity, design their vision, and experience the confidence and freedom they desire. |
